In Nature We Believe
A canoe carries what a crew needs to cross an ocean. This one carries the methods, games, songs, images and readings that youth workers use to bring young people into a real relationship with the living world — filed under the eight directions, so you can find the one that fits the group in front of you right now.
How to use this
Where is your group right now?
Sleepy after lunch? That is South-west. Wired and unfocused? South-east. Something ended and nobody has said anything about it? West. Press that direction and the wheel hands you something to do about it.
If you do not know, turn the wheel and let it choose. Being sent somewhere unexpected is half the method.

North+ North-east
A long rope is laid across a field as the age of the Earth; participants walk it, placing what they know, and discover where in the last few centimetres their entire species appears.
East
A short standing circle that opens the day: one breath together, the shape of the day named out loud, and one word from every person.
South+ West
A sequence of embodied systems games — secret triangles, the balancing game, and a resource commons — that give a group the felt experience of feedback, delay and collapse in under an hour.
The log
A voyage is one WAKA: a group of people, a landing place, a week. The log holds what happened on each one — including the parts that did not work, which are the parts the next crew needs.
